Meet the Staff

Elizabeth Reff

Scheduler, Elizabeth Reff

Elizabeth joined Doris O. Wong Associates in May 2017 as the new office manager. She graduated the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 2014 where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. While a student, she also worked as a section editor and page designer for her independent student newspaper.

In our office, she is responsible for scheduling inquiries, allocating assignments to reporters, assisting clients via phone or email, and setting up depositions and meetings that require remote technologies such as video conferencing and cameo.

Dena Toney

Production, Dena Toney

Dena joined our team in January 2017. She graduated from Rider University in 2000 where she earned a bachelor's degree in advertising. After graduation, she found her niche in child care—a rather different occupation from her major. Having had the privilege of working in this field for 15 years, she will forever feel indebted to the little ones who taught her big lessons about life.

After moving to the Boston area in December 2016, she switched gears again to find suitable employment. Armed with a keen attention to detail and an aim to please, she quickly found her place here at Doris O. Wong Associates providing verbatim transcripts to the attorneys in a timely fashion and in the format they prefer. Striking a balance between speed and perfection is not always easy, but she refuses to sacrifice quality for quantity. Taking one extra minute to look over a transcript can make a big difference.

When not working, she enjoys sharing her passion and strong faith in the Bible with the Mandarin Chinese community. Since Boston boasts one of the largest concentrations of Chinese-speaking people, upon graduating from a special Bible school, she was asked to move to this area to help them learn about the Bible and their Creator. Dena looks forward to what the future holds and where the adventure will lead her next.

Ralph Simpson

Quality Control Specialist, Ralph Simpson, Ret. RMR

Ralph joined us in January 1970 as our first full-time reporter. He holds the CSR, RPR, and RMR designations and was the Massachusetts Shorthand Reporters Association (MSRA) shorthand speed champion in 1975 and 1976. He is also a past-president of MSRA.

Due to a wrist injury in February 2003, Ralph transitioned from court reporter to quality control manager. He is now responsible for transcript production, proofreading, computer billing, and mentoring some of the younger reporters on our staff. He—and the rest of our team—believes that "quality is our #1 product."
